  The only thing he made me think of was a tongue speaking fundi being an ass, filled with the spirit! What a tool. He could have really had something if he weren't there to yell at them instead of talk/reason. Fail. It's very surprising that Freeminds has it on their site. Actually I think the freeminds guy is a bit of a fundi isn't he? Doesn't matter.

  It's the same deal as buying a "Memorial" dress. What the hell's the difference between an Easter dress and a "Memorial" dress. It was the big thing to outdo each other on the Memorial. Different denomination same status seeking.

  but our situation is very difficult and quite high profile.... i was raised as a jw and my mother was very strict and abusive.

  i got baptized at age 14.. my mother actually called on my (present) husband's mom in service.

  she was on the initial call resulting in his mom coming in the truth and him being raised in it from about age 8 or 9.. despite a very abusive step-father, he followed his mom's lead and came into the truth.

  frank was concerned that they might be dumping them in the woods or something so he wanted me to check it out.. i had a hard time convincing h and h to let me join them in service, finally i dropped a few hints that i was a pretty laid back brother who didn't always follow wtbts policy......... which wasn't far from the truth.

  Elder's advice we remember

  i remember ones when i was quite tired and low one elder said to me " it says in the bible that the one who endures to the end will survive, so really the only thing you/we have to do is to endure".. wow, gee, really!!

  hey well that's a relief and encouraging....thanks.... i think that all that enduring was what made me tired and depressed in the first place..... what do you have to relate?.

  Why do I keep digging?

  it didnt take a lot of independant research, along with a life full of ridiculous experiences in the religion, to realize that the organization and its gb are just another religion focused on control and conformity.

  so why do i keep digging into the insanity and contradictions that they're based on.

  i think i know why, just want to hear how others feel..

  We were taught that if we did enough digging we would find "The Truth" but we find instead only falsehood and human direction. We can't hardly accept it emotionally though we accept it intellectually. You've found the way out. Keep going. Do what you need and talk more here. Welcome.

  my current view is that half the world exists to reassure the other half that there is something they don't know that can only be found by listening to the first half telling it.

  i have two living siblings, an older brother, and a younger sister.

  my brother and his wife have had to move many times due to his job because of promotions, and new opportunities.

  everytime they moved, it would be weeks before they were settled enough to begin attending meetings again.

  Bake some cookies and watch a good movie. If you are a grandma, enjoy the grandkids and take it a day at a time. We are what we are.
